Family
Family photo sessions can be stressful for the person who is taking care of planning them and bringing the family together for them. From the scheduling to coordinating outfits, to making sure the timing aligns with nap schedules, to managing everyone’s expectations, to finally arriving at the session and making it look like you’re not stressed that your toddler is in a “no” phase or your pre-teen isn’t going to smile.
Trust me, I get it! However, my job is to make your stress level decrease to a manageable level and for you to actually enjoy the session you worked so hard to put together! You deserve to have photos of you at ease and surrounded by the love of your family members.
How do I make that stress level decrease, you ask? I simply ~release~ the pressure of having perfectly styled photos from you, because that’s not what I do! I prefer to document your children in their natural state, with their authentic personalities. I’m going to be the one asking your daughter to show me all the different parts of her outfit that she’s proud of, show me how fast she can run, and see how tight she can hug mama. I’m going to ask your son who has the stinkiest farts in the family, how high he can jump, and if he can pose like his favorite superhero. I want to get to know your family’s dynamics, how you all interact together, so I can document the essence of your love for one another, not just a few “stand and smile” poses and call it a day.
Mom, Dad, parent, guardian…let’s have a chat.

DO bring little things to do with your kids if you think they’ll enjoy a little activities. Think bubbles, a little bucket to pick up shells, or bringing a favorite stuffed animal if that brings them comfort.
DON’T stress or apologize if your kid suddenly becomes a feral animal in the presence of my camera. It’s completely normal for them to start performing or being extra silly for a new person with a big camera, and I relish that silliness. I wear clothes I can move around in to family sessions so I can keep up with quick little feet and get down on their level to check out a rock or something they found. All that being said, you do not need to stress if your kid is not on their best behavior. As a parent myself, I’ve seen a wide range of child emotions, and none of them scare me.
DO channel your inner “Bandit and Chili Heeler” and be the fun parents for the session! If you’re having fun with your kids, you’re both going to have a good time. And people who are having a good time look so much better in photos than people who are forced to smile via bribery or scolding.
DON’T forget about yourself. If you put this session together and are the main planner of it, chances are you’re the default parent. As a fellow default parent, I can relate when I say you are on the bottom of your own totem pole. Give yourself a chance to be on that pedestal, you deserve it! And when you arrive at the session, relinquish control to your favorite photographer, me :)
DO text me with any questions you have regarding your session. I know your time is precious, and sometimes its just easier to shoot off a text.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHIC STYLE?
My wedding photography style could best be described as "lifestyle," which is a spin-off of documentary photography, with the addition of a little bit of posing. I enjoy being a "fly on the wall" and catching moments as they happen, but occasionally I have to step in and tweak little details here and there to get the best photograph.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS ON THE DAY OF MY SESSION?
You have two options if it rains. One, we can roll with it and use the rain as another aspect of the session! I’ve seen some rain sessions that turn out incredible. If that’s not your vibe, then we can just reschedule the session. I do not charge a rescheduling fee, so don’t worry about that.
Yes! If the payment schedule I lay out doesn’t work for you and you need a more extensive payment plan, just let me know! I can help you come up with something that works with your financial situation.
DO YOU OFFER PAYMENT PLANS?
The deposit for a couples session is $100, due when you sign the contract. The remaining balance is due the day before the session.
HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?
CAN I BRING PETS TO THE SESSION?
YES PLEASE!! I love a doggo moment. Or really any furry baby. If they’re a part of your family and you feel comfortable bringing them, I’m tempted to demand their presence.
IS THERE A LOCATION YOU RECOMMEND?
I have a list of locations I frequent if you don’t have a specific one in mind! I like to recommend a location based on what vibe you’re looking for.
