Ramona Pavilion Wedding | Taylor + Matt
This was my last wedding before going on maternity leave, and man, was it such a good one to end on. Taylor and Matt were so chill during their whole wedding day, and the love they share for one another was impossible not to document. The day was full of so much happiness, love and emotions. I'm so glad I had a camera in front of my face because I teared up quite a bit at times!
They had their Greek Orthodox ceremony at St. John the Divine, and it was so so sweet.
Immediately following their ceremony, they snuck away to a little corner of the church to have a moment alone, and when I was taking this sneaky photo, I was just so blown away by how much they adore one another. I know, I know, obviously they love and adore one another and that's obviously why they're getting married, but I'm never bored of the ways my clients show each other how much they love each other. Each couple shows love in different ways, and Taylor and Matt just happened to be so sweet and tender towards one another, and it made me feel very lucky to be documenting this day for them.
Their reception was held at The Ramona Pavilion, where they ate, drank and danced with all of their favorite people.
During the reception, Matt shared a special dance with his Yaya (grandma), and when my second shooter, Seth, captured this photo I knew I had to share it with the world because it brings tears to my eyes every time I look at it. This woman is clearly such an important part of Matt's life and I'm so happy that he was able to share this sweet moment with her. She was so excited for him and Taylor during the ceremony, speaking in Greek and expressing her love for the two of them. AH! See what I mean? This wedding was just so dang sweet!
The night ended with a sparkler exit, and I was so excited that the rain let up for just a second so that they could have the gorgeous exit they were hoping for. This wedding will always hold such a special place in my heart, and I'm so thankful for Taylor and Matt's trust in me to document it.
I also want to extend a special shout out to Seth and Sarah, my second and third photographers for the night. I was so nervous about photographing a wedding at 36 weeks pregnant and hired an extra person to fill in just in case I went into labor before the wedding, but even though I ended up being able to do the job, it was SO helpful to have those two with me that day so that I could take breaks if I needed to and I knew my couple was still getting the coverage they deserved. Seth and Sarah, you two are the bomb and I can't thank you enough.
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Sotirin!
