Casa Marina Wedding | Andrea + Finn

2018-10-31_0013.jpg

This was, hands down, the most chill, laid-back, no fuss wedding I’ve ever photographed. I felt like I was family with these two, which made it so easy to document the day. There were so many beautiful personal details included during the wedding, it felt like I was learning about Andrea and Finn’s life as I was documenting their wedding day.

Andrea and Finn didn’t have a bridal party; instead, they opted for a “bridal team” of sorts. Andrea’s brother was her “man of honor” and Finn’s sister was his “best woman,” and when it was time for them to get ready, this provided them with some time to be alone and reflect on the upcoming day. Usually when I walk into the bridal suite, I am surrounded by exciting and jittery energy in the form of bridesmaids, family, and a glam squad. When I walked into Andrea’s bridal suite, the only people present were her mom, sister in law and the hair stylist (the incredible Martha Morrison from Clover and Woolly Salon). The energy in the room was so calm and zen, I could have been walking in for an afternoon yoga class.

The pre-ceremony events were filled with sweet moments between people that Andrea and Finn loved so dearly. Each of them had beautiful quiet moments with their parents while getting dressed, and a group of Andrea’s close friends stopped by the bridal suite to see her in her gorgeous wedding garb before she walked down the aisle.

Andrea and Finn had so many cool details weaved into their reception. They had a book swap, where the guests each brought a book and wrote their name in it, and at the end of the night, everyone took a different book home. It was something I’d never seen and I really hope something like this gets popular!

The dessert table was littered with unconventional wedding desserts, and featured two gorgeous pies. These things seriously looked fake! Of course, Alley Cakes nailed it once again.

After dinner, everyone danced the night away, right up until the last dance, which was “Pursuit of Happiness” by Kid Cudi. Seriously, these people are so cool!
