What to do When Wedding Planning Gets Overwhelming

You're in the thick of wedding planning, surrounded by vendor emails and hot glue guns, constantly hoping that wedding planning will magically start to be the fun and exciting event that your friends and family told you it would be. What you want is to get caught up on your 25 different wedding lists, to make sure that you have hit the mark that all the wedding blogs and Pinterest tells you that you need to hit at this stage of wedding planning. However, what you need is to step away and do literally anything else. But when wedding planning is the only thing on your mind and you cant get peonies and timelines out of your head for the life of you, what the hell are you supposed to do?! Do not fret, dear reader, I have compiled a list of five things to do when wedding planning gets overwhelming. Feel free to pick one, or do them all!

Exercise Just get up and get the juices flowing. Do whatever exercise you love to do, whether that means finding an awesome yoga YouTube video (I recommend Yoga with Adriene), going out for a run, or pumping out an awesome workout at the gym. Exercise releases endorphins, and endorphins make people happy. It's science, don't fight it.

Have a dance party Clear some space in your living room, put on your favorite feel-good music, and jam out. As an avid Grey's Anatomy watcher, I've learned that sometimes you just need to dance out the stress when time's get rough. Invite your fiance to join you so you can both dance out the wedding stress!

Girls Night Out Text your closest girlfriends and invite them out for a girls night out with no wedding talk. Nothing cleanses the soul like dressing up and going out with a kickass group of friends. I would recommend somewhere with a dance floor, because then you could go out and also have a dance party!

Read I've always found that my favorite form of escaping is sitting on my favorite part of our sectional couch and diving into an awesome book for hours on end. Dust off that book you've been meaning to read, make yourself a cup of coffee, put your phone in another room, and find a comfy place to snuggle up with that fine piece of literature. But first finish this blog post, please and thank you.

Go on an adventure Get in your car and drive somewhere that's out of the norm for you. It could be as simple as going to a side of town you have been wanting to explore and checking out a cool restaurant, or as complex as packing a bag and going for an impromptu road trip to another state. Just get out of your normal routine and find new places to enjoy, it'll take your mind off of all the wedding planning stress, and you'll see some new sights in the process!

Now get out there and get to chilling! There's no reason to be stressed about planning such an exciting day!
